With summer quickly approaching, the excitement builds for sunshine and warm weather.  With that comes less clothing, and for many, body image struggles.  Not to worry, you’ve got plenty of time to get yourself on the right track!

Here are some quick tips you can use to get started right away:

Hydrate

Drink more water!  Stop saying you will and start actually doing it.  You know those millions of water bottles you’ve accumulated over the years? Fill those up, throw them in your fridge, and take 3-4 with you every day!  YES, 3-4…EVERY DAY!  You can do it! Your hair, skin, tummy, and body will thank you!

Forget about yesterday

So yesterday was a bad day, you had too many cookies while watching TV, or you had one too many cocktails while out with friends.  That’s OK, it’s a new day!  Start over and stop beating yourself up!  Forget about yesterday, last weekend, or whatever day you’re focusing on and focus on now.  Now is where we can make it happen!

Keep moving

Many times boredom leads to eating.  Think of when you’re sitting in front of the TV, what happens?  Mindless eating.  If we are up moving around, we are much less likely to eat.  Do you walk the dog with a bag of chips in your hand?  I hope not…although that would be very entertaining to watch!  Get off the couch and go do something!

Plan ahead

You’ve heard me say this a million times, as well as every other fitness/nutrition activist out there – PLAN!  You can’t expect to magically have healthy food in your fridge if you don’t put it there.  Make a plan for what you’re going to eat for the week before you go to the grocery.  Put together as much as you can ahead of time.  This way you’ll be much less likely to snack and grab things that you’ll regret later.  I know, I know…you don’t have time to prepare meals ahead of time, right?  Yes you do.  If reaching your health goals is important to you, you’ll find that time.  It’s there, I promise.

Accept the changes

You want to set new goals for your body and your health, right?  Without changing things in your lifestyle, you will NEVER reach your goals.  If you want to see results, you have to work for it.  Accept that change will happen, and enjoy it!  Taking control of your health and your body is an amazing thing and it will feel so empowering!  You can do this!

You have it in you to do every single one of these things.  They are each small but so powerful, and with every step you take, you’ll have more and more control of yourself and your actions.  Let’s love ourselves and thank our bodies for all they’ve done for us! xoxo
